BUILDING THE EQN

THE EQN CAN BE USED IN THE GDIY 51X ENCLOSURE (PROVIDING +24V) WITH THE EXTRA PINS PROVIDED, OR BY CUTTING OFF THE EXTRA PINS CAN BE USED IN A STANDARD API 500 SERIES TYPE ENCLOSURE, OR DESK.

AUDIO MAINTENANCE LTD DO A PARTIAL KIT FOR THE EQN THAT INCLUDES THE ROTARY SWITCHES, INPUT TRANSFORMER AND INDUCTORS.
THE OUTPUT TRANSFORMER IS AVAILABLE FROM HAIRBALL AUDIO.

The pins need to have a fairly close-up bend to the pcb.
The easiest way is to solder them in and then bend them.
Don't worry about roughing up the surface... it'll give extra grip in the sockets.

The 4M7 mini resistors should have their legs cut so as to not protrude through the top surface.
Solder them on the underside.
 

THE ROTARY SWITCH PIN POSITIONS.

With the switch in position 2 (read the instructions)..... put a pin in at 12 o'clock.
This is the start point fully counter clockwise.
Then depending on how many positions.. i.e. 5... stick the pin in at 5 o'clock.

INPUT TRANSFORMER WIRING

2 goes to IN+
5 goes to IN-
7&8 go to OUT+
9&10 go to OUT- Ground
6 GOES TO SCR
